Good evening all,
Seems hard to believe that the fall season has come to a close. We hope you all had as much fun on the field this fall as we did!
As we discussed at the EHS Men’s Lacrosse Fall meeting, EHS Men’s Lacrosse is committed to providing lacrosse offerings for our players outside of our traditional season(s). This winter, we have 3 distinct offerings.
1) Off the Field Training:
For those of you who were members of EHS Men’s Lacrosse last year, you'll remember our speed and agility training at Rock and Armor. This year, we're changing venues, and will be training with OFF THE FIELD. Building speed, strength, and athleticism is a very important part of building a strong lacrosse team. Yes stick and lacrosse skills are important, BUT THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY THINGS THAT LEAD TO SUCCESS ON THE LACROSSE FIELD. ALTHOUGH NOT REQUIRED, OTF TRAINING IS BEING STRONGLY ENCOURAGED BY OUR COACHING STAFF.
Training starts next Tuesday, October 30th and will run on Tuesday's and Thursday's through the beginning of the lacrosse season. Unlike last year, this years training costs are not included in your spring registration. For more information on OTF and sign up instructions, head on over to the home page at ehslax.com.
2) Winter Indoor Lacrosse
In addition to OTF, we've added the opportunity to keep sticks in hands by participating in Winter Indoor Lacrosse through the West Ada Lacrosse League (W.A.L.L.). This season will start Mid-December and last through the beginning of the spring lacrosse season. This is primarily a game only experience, with games taking place mostly on Saturday's and Monday's. We will have a few practices, but do not have finalized times yet.
Here's the kicker, due to the smaller teams used for indoor lacrosse, participation is limited to 26 players total for the 2 teams we will form for WALL... First come, first served. For more information, head over to the ehslax.com home page or registration information tab on ehslax.com.
3) Winter Travel Tourney
Last but not least our winter travel tournament this year will be the Sandstorm Lacrosse Festival in Indio California on January 19th and 20th. This will be tailored primarily to upper classmen, and will be invitation only. Coach McNeal will be reaching out to those of you that he feels will be a good fit for this experience soon. In the meantime, for more information, head on over to our EHS Travel Tab at ehslax.com and check out the details.
Enjoy the remainder of the fall and Go 'Stangs!
