Eagle Youth Lacrosse

Eagle Youth Lacrosse (EYL) is a US Lacrosse sanctioned  initiative (USL#000006891822), and created with the goal of providing an improved youth lacrosse experience in Eagle, Idaho.  Through integration with the EHS Mens Lacrosse Program, we hope to provide growth opportunities through advanced and competitive teams, summer leagues, "friendly" games, lacrosse camps, and mentorship for our youth lacrosse players.

Eagle Youth Lacrosse players are 6th, 7th and 8th graders that live within the Eagle High School boundaries and have an intent to play lacrosse for Eagle High School. The EYL program is an essential part of the player development pipeline for Eagle Mens High Lacrosse and participants will be taught LAX fundamentals that will prepare them for the transition from middle school lacrosse to playing in high school.

FAQ

USA Lacrosse is the governing body for lacrosse and has a wealth of information available on their website. Here is a link for a good place to start: Boys' Game Overview | USA Lacrosse

  • Q: What seasons are Eagle Youth Lacrosse played?
A: Lacrosse differs from a number of sports in that there are opportunities to play year round. The two major seasons for Eagle Youth Lacrosse are Fall and Spring. Fall season is generally thought to be less competitive and offers a great opportunity for new athletes to learn the sport and those that have played to level up on their skills. Spring season is considered more competitive and culminates in a tournament and crowning a champion.  Fall season starts late August and ends mid-October. Spring season starts early March and ends mid-May. There are other opportunities through travel and non-travel clubs in the valley to play both summer lacrosse and winter box lacrosse at a high level of competition.
  • Q: What equipment is needed to play lacrosse?
A:  See USA Lacrosse Equipment Guide- USAL-equipment-guide-low.pdf
There are a number of places to purchase Lacrosse gear both online and in the valley. Here are a few  including Eagle's own online store where profits go back into the program https://ehslax.secondslide.io/  and LAX ID.  We recognize that sometimes making the full investment in lacrosse gear can be challenging and may not make sense if you are unsure of your son's commitment to the sport. The club, parents and players have extra gear that is often available for your son to use as you make that decision. Please reach out to Eagle Men's Lacrosse club President or Coach.
